Yorkshire Terriers
By Doggy Photos
The breed Yorkshire Terriers, also lovingly known as “Yorkies” for short, are the smallest terriers of them all. But don’t let their size fool you. These little pooches can be fierce in the way they are very excitable, protective and loyal to their owners. The territorial nature of Yorkies means they don’t easily trust strangers or people outside of the immediate family! But this characteristic makes them good watch dogs for your family home. They also have a chasing instinct so they have a tendency to go after things that run or move quickly. Yorkies do require lots of socialization and training so an owner of this breed must be very patient and not busy with work. These dogs require a lot of attention and do not like to be left alone for long hours. Like other toy breeds, the fragile small physical nature of Yorkshire Terrier demand more careful attention from owners and should not be left with small children who can accidentally hurt the dog.
